About us

The Fellside Flower Company is a family run farm growing British seasonal flowers, wildflowers and foliage in Cumbria.

Our aim is to encourage everyone to grow, buy and appreciate British flowers, and in doing so to reduce the environmental impact of the flowers we all enjoy. We believe that people can make a difference choosing sustainably grown flowers. We are therefore committed to growing and supplying our flowers with care for the natural environment.

The Greenshaw family grow beautiful flowers from their home in Long Marton, near Appleby-in-Westmorland.

The seeds of an idea

We started growing flowers for market stalls and friends weddings in 2015 and quickly realised that customers were buying them, reminiscing about their wedding flowers, their grandmas gardens and the scent of flowers they hadn’t experience in years. This struck a chord. In 2017 we moved just 8 miles down the Eden valley to a house with 4 acres, between the Pennine and Lake District Fells, and The Fellside Flower Company was established.

The family

Emma has been gardening and picking flowers as a hobby for as long as she can remember. An interest in climate change and sustainability and a career in environmental management made her question the environmental impacts of the imported flowers and flower foam being used. She joined the increasing number of growers championing the British flowers movement and set up Cumbria’s first new flower farm. She now combines flowery work with running projects at Cumbria Action for Sustainability.

Taff takes on the lion’s share of fencing, compost shifting and mowing. When not in the flower field he runs The Heritage Landscape Company and will be found lime pointing traditional buildings, dry stone walling or hedging.

We are ably assisted by our Little Man and apprentice mower. We hope you enjoy our flowers as much as we love growing them!
